This is what I read in class when discussing Martin Agnes 3.
Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from.

KNOW YOUR JUROR!: SNAG Exhibition in Print deadline for application is March 15th
Garth Clark is the juror for SNAG's upcoming Exhibition in Print: "Neo-Palatial: Objects of Virtue and Vice." He's a ceramics scholar and dealer. Below is a link to an audio recording of a lecture he gave titled “How Envy Killed the Crafts Movement: An Autopsy in Two Parts.” In a nutshell it's on the past 150 years of craft and the negative ramifications of its aspiration to be seen as fine art. The two part podcast can be downloaded at http://www.craftcouncil.org/conference09/?p=1329
